I've long suspected that airport security is often more for show than a real anti-terror measure.

Coming back from Brisbane last year I had two jars of New Zealand Marmite confiscated in case I "smeared it on something" - like toast perhaps? Meanwhile this kind of nonsense is going on.

It may only have been a small local airport, but it doesn't sound like she bothered to hide her intentions on the way through! At least she's now free to have another go. Perhaps next time she can call and book an appointment to give security a fighting chance...
