Man Utd 3 - West Brom 5

A classic match from December 1978 when Albion were one of the best teams in the country, if not Europe. This gives you a taste of what Cunningham was all about.

The booing during the game and Fat Ron's post-match comments show just what players like Cunningham, Regis & Batson had to deal with and how far we've come since then.

Let's hope Bomber Brown & Bryan Robson's shaggy perms remain a thing of the past too!

From Brisbane Road to the Bernabeu

I was lucky enough to see Laurie play a few times for West Brom and he had a bit of everything. Pace, skill, balance and a surprising amount of strength. I think the comparison with Cristiano Ronaldo is a good one, although Laurie had better dress sense.

I can also see what people mean about his unfulfilled potential, but perhaps his real legacy was breaking down the racial barriers that existed within football to give us the multicultural game we have today.

RIP Laurie.
